Good Times is the eighth studio album by country singer Willie Nelson. Arrangements were by Anita Kerr, Bill Walker and Ray Stevens.
This is kind of an odd record. One side is very sparse instrumentally, while the other side has three different people providing arrangements. The songs are okay (maybe subpar for Nelson), with one of the most interesting being his cover of Mickey Newbury’s “Sweet Memories.” ~~ AllMusic Review by Jim Worbois

This album embodies Volume 2 of the great event which was recorded in December 1976 over two nights at the intimate Pawnshop jazz club in Stockholm and considered one of the most famous audiophile recording in music. Both the musicianship and the engineering came together in a magical symbiosis captured on this enduring classic. Recording engineer Gert Palmcrantz used one pair of microphones spaced eight inches apart for the main pick-up, with a couple of microphones placed to register the “live” atmosphere and a few discrete support mikes, all recorded on a pair of two-track Nagra tape recorders in the restaurant kitchen!

The programme features six complementary approaches, ranging from music by John Cage, Gentle Giant and Frank Zappa to the premiere of violinist Antoine Bareil’s Castille 1382, written especially for Milot.

Manhattan-native drummer Tony Moreno was born into and for music, his mother, Nina Dunkel Moreno, a noted harpist, pianist and educator. Oh, and he received his first drum kit at ten-years old from… Elvin Jones who became his early mentor and teacher. Moreno has had a long and storied career, filled with memories and mementos, many of the latter lost when Hurricane Sandy made East Coast landfall in October 2012. After losing his studio, library, and trove of his mother’s musical memorabilia, The 55 Bar (55 Christopher St. (Sixth/Seventh Avenue) New York City, in the heart of Greenwich Village) offered Moreno a monthly residence for his quintet. It was during this period of rebuilding that Moreno conceived and assembled the two-disc Short Stories.
