Unmasked is the eighth studio album by American hard rock band Kiss, released in 1980. It was the last studio album to feature the original lineup of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss until the band reunited in 1996. Criss actually had no involvement with the recording of the album; Anton Fig (uncredited) played all the drums on the album.

Smashes, Thrashes & Hits is Kiss’ third greatest hits album, including two previously unreleased tracks and titles from Love Gun, Destroyer, Creatures of the Night, Kiss, Lick It Up, Animalize,Rock and Roll Over, Asylum, Dynasty and Dressed to Kill. The album peaked at number 21 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1988. Many of the songs that had been recorded with the original line-up were altered in some way, Eric Carr re-recorded the title “Beth” which had been sung by drummer Peter Criss, making it the first record featuring Carr on lead vocals.

Revenge is Kiss’ sixteenth studio album and the first record released by the group after the death of drummer Eric Carr. The record was dedicated to the late band member who was replaced by drummer Eric Singer. Revenge is one of their most popular later albums, it peaked at number 6 on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart, 10 in the UK and 5 in Australia. The record produced singles “God Gave Rock ‘N’ Roll to You II”, “Unholy” and “Domino”.

Their ninth studio album, Music from “The Elder” was an epic concept album by KISS that featured orchestral elements. Considered to be one of their weakest efforts, the album sold poorly and the band did not tour in support of it. The album was also the last to feature Ace Frehley until the band’s 1996 Reunion Tour.

Lick It Up is the hard rock band’s eleventh studio album. The 1983 record was the first to feature new lead guitarist Vinnie Vincent who replaced Ace Frehley in 1982 during Kiss’ 10th Anniversary Tour. Lick It Up produced singles “Lick It Up” which the group continues to perform live today, and “All Hell’s Breakin’ Loose”. The group went out ‘unmasked’ while promoting the album, leaving behind their trademark face paint, which hadn’t been done since the band’s early days.

Double Platinum was the American rock group’s first greatest hits album originally released in 1978. The album featured remixed titles from previous Kiss records, many differing from the original recordings and in some cases the tracks were re-recorded entirely. The single from the album “Strutter ’78” was a re-recorded version of their original title “Strutter” with a slight disco beat.
